Pro bowl 2010

The pro bowl this year was a great game played on Sunday January 31, 2010. In an effort to make it a bigger game as a warm up to the super bowl, the pro bowl was held this year in Miami, instead of it's usual home of Honolulu, Hawaii where it's been held since 1980. The two teams, the AFC vs. the NFC had a close battle through-out the game. However, the AFC beat the NFC 41-34. The best highlight of the game in my opinion happened during the third quarter, safety Brian Dawkins of the AFC west Denver Broncos intercepted a pass thrown by Donavin Mcnabb of the Philadelphia Eagles, then lateraled the ball to former teammate of the Broncos, Champ Bailey (cornerback), who then fumbled a lateral to Jets corner back, Derelle Revis who was was then ruled down as he also attempted a lateral. The players were definitely in good spirits despite the light rain that fell throughout the game. I thought the players definitely did a good job at making it worthwhile and entertaining for the fans to watch. Matt Schaub of the Houston Texans threw for 189 yards and two AFC touchdowns. He played awesome, and earned the honors of the most valuable player. Aaron Rodgers threw for 2 touchdown passes, one 7 yd pass to Desean Jackson of the Philadelphia eagles, and the other a 48 yd pass to Steve Smith of the NFC south Carolina Panthers. Desean Jackson also had a 58 yard pass touchdown from Donavan McNabb. Desean Jackson is a first year pro bowler and really showed off his talent in this game. This year he became the first player in NFL history to make the pro bowl as both a wide receiver and returner. Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson scored the game winning touchdown for the AFC with just under 6 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter to secure the win for the AFC. The AFC totaled 517 yards and the NFC totaled 470 yards. Neither teams Defense seemed to play very well. The AFC's offensive line threw a bunch of screens and had the NFC Defense running all over the field. I enjoyed watching the game. It was fun to see the talented players from different teams competing. It was a very entertaining game to watch.

SIDNEY RICE 1RST TIME PROBOWLER

Sidney Rice is a wide reciever for the Minnesota Vikings. He is my favorite player on the time. He is a very fast, agile, running back and he has great hands. Although he may not be as fast as other wide recievers such as Randy Moss, he has proven to be a go to guy this season because of his amazing ability to find the ball and catch it. He has very good hands. He doesn't drop many balls. Rice was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2007 in the 2nd round. He was the 44th overall pick. He signed a four year contract with the Vikings for $2.981 Million. In 2007 and 2008 Sidney Rice spent much of the season sidelined because of a knee injury. He lost his starter position to Bobby Wade. However, in 2009 he won his starting job back and had the best season of his career thus far. He had a 176 yd game against the Baltimore Ravens with 6 catches. The next game against the Pitsburgh Steelers he has an even better game. He completed 10 catches for 136 yds. In week 10 against the Detroit Lions, Rice managed another impressive 201 yd performance with 7 catches. He finished the 2009 season with 1,312 yds, 83 receptions, 15.8 yds receiving, and 8 touchdowns. On November 18, 2009, for the first time; Rice recieved the award for NFC offensive player of the week. On December 29, 2009, Rice was also honored as a NFC pro bowler. This was also the first time he has won this award. Unfortunately he did not play in the pro bowl though due to being unhealthy.
