Lawrence Taylor, a.k.a. "L.T." a former professional football player for the New York Giants was arrested by police in the Suffern, NY area on Thursday, May 6 and charged with rape. Taylor was a sensational linebacker. In 1999 he was voted into the pro football hall of fame. Taylor has been charged with felony 3rd degree statutory rape. 3rd degree statutory rape in the state of New york constitutes anyone that engages in sexual intercourse with someone who is under 17 while over 21. Taylor was also charged with patronization for allegedly paying the minor $300 to have intercourse with him. Taylor sustains that he did not have sex with the girl, nor rape her. If convicted Taylor faces up to 5 years in prison, and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. The alleged victim was a 15 year old runaway. She was reported as missing in March.The underage girl claims she did not recognize that it was Lawrence Taylor when she engaged in intercourse with him. She was accompanied to Lawrence Taylor's room by a man authorities identified as Rasheed Davis. Davis is a 36 year old parolee. He is being charged with unlawful imprisonment, assault and endangering the welfare of a child. It is alleged that the underaged girl had been staying with Davis in the Bronx for weeks, and that he took her to punched her, kicked her, took her to Taylor's room against her will, and told her to have sex with him. He has been released on 75,000 bail.
